- The workers' assembly has been set up with the aim of fighting for the negotiation of the third Gipuzkoa Social Intervention Convention. The Association of Social Initiative and Intervention Entities of Gipuzkoa, Hedatzen, has proposed “a setback in working conditions”, in view of which social intervention workers have demonstrated their firm will to fight for their rights.
On 14 and 25 February in Tabakalera and on 20 February in Bergara the platform has been assembled to create a website that disseminates information about its activity. As they have pointed out, the Society is a group created “in the face of the unreason of the Zabaltzen company”, “in the face of trade union disputes” and “in the face of the experience of previous agreements”, made up of employees (whether affiliated or not to the unions).
They have also agreed on the relationship with the unions: the assembly will be sovereign in its decisions, and the unions will be at the service of the workers and not the other way round. To this end, the assembly shall define the initiatives and mobilisation agenda, the members of the assembly shall participate in the negotiating delegations and shall have the advice and logistical support of the trade unions.
