The Department of Education of the Basque Government is making cuts for the next course
  • "The directors and families of the public centers are clear to us that the next course will need new resources to respond to the needs generated by the confinement, and we have repeatedly asked the Department of Education in recent months." On the contrary, EHIGE (Association of Parents) and Heize (Federation of Directors) have denounced that the Department of Education has cut resources for the course coming to the centres.

The Association of Fathers and Mothers of Students of the Basque Country (EHIGE) and the Federation of Governing Associations of the Basque Public School (Heize) have argued that the increase in resources is "essential" to respond to "the themes identified by the educational community and by the Department of Education itself": digitalization, Basque and emotional attention.

The schools have already started to receive the resources they will have for the next course, and the two institutions have pointed out that the Department of Education has implemented "significant cuts": "What he wants is to halve the working hours of those responsible for the dining room. The aim is to reduce the resources allocated to educational institutions with a low socio-economic status. There are no resources to strengthen the role of the ICT Manager and the Advisor. There are no means in classrooms to lower the ratios."

They have asked the Department of Education not to cut and have sent a letter to the educational centers of the CAV to reach agreement on this text in the Maximum Representation Bodies, which bring together all the agents of the center.
