Jamattitt Bidart "Kuxkurrio" was born in Baigorri in 1926, in Potroxo. He was a carpenter of his own office, from the time he started working as his father's apprentice at the age of 14 until he was portrayed. He began studying Basque at the age of 16 and in 1966 he joined the group of dances Arrola de Baigorri. For many years, the dance teacher from outside made them go to Baigorri and the young people of the town took them to Hego Euskal Herria to learn dances and representations. For about ten years he promoted the life of the group of dances Arriola and at that time he participated in the meetings of the Basque Country Dantzarien Biltzarra. Today their descendants maintain the succession of the popular group of dances.

Jamattitt Bidart has for years been a reference person for Iparralde choreographers, as collected by the web mintzoak.eus.

Here is the interview made to him by Mikel Asurmendi in 1991 with his son prisoner Felipe: "We can't judge our children of the choice they've made."

Asurmendi collected in this blog post Filip's words about her father.
