Disturbances in Ukraine due to the arrival of people evacuated from China by the coronavirus
  • From the coronavirus epicenter, 72 people have been moved from Wuhan, China, to the city of Kharkiv, east of Ukraine. The team, made up of 45 Ukrainians and 27 people of other nationalities, will be in quarantine for 14 days at a City Health Spa. Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk stressed that evacuees are in good health.

The Ukrainian security services have reported that, in a false mail sent on behalf of the Ministry of Health, some of the evacuees are ill. Fear has spread among the inhabitants of the Kharkiv and some of them have welcomed the 72 people who have been moved from China. Six buses have entered the city, but several citizens have tried to cut the roads.

The police have severely beaten the Protestants and incidents have been recorded on the city streets. In order to calm the situation, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharu, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Health Minister Zoryana Skaletska have come to the site and insisted that there are no confirmed cases. Three Ukrainians and one infected Kazakh have stayed in China.
