Asturias-Veleia: three years after trial
Tomas Elortza Ugarte 2023ko otsailaren 03a

The trial took place in Vitoria from 3 to 19 February 2020. Days before P.A. The journalist sent Berria the sense article Sugetzarra. It ended as follows:

"You have to see what makes judgment. In any case, it is sad that everything is then turned over; disappointing, the games of interest that are guessed and crossed in the snake movement. It is unfortunate that archaeologists, linguists and historians have not collaborated and are able to clarify the issue; unfortunately, the institutions that work in knowledge – Euskaltzaindia, Eusko Ikaskuntza, Jakiunde, universities… – have not collaborated in this. […] We Basques of the 21st century care to know if anyone, who, around the 3rd, wrote in Basque in pieces of ceramic".

Three years later, after knowing the trial and the sentence, I make the following reflection:

The trial was nothing good, but an increase in suffering and confusion. The complaint was brought by the Provincial Council of Álava and from the beginning it was told in a thousand ways that this issue should be resolved by scientific means and not by judicial means. All in vain!

It is not yet known whether 87% of graphites (254) are true or false. Only one of the eighteen researchers who participated in the reports, José Vicente Navarro, found signs of falsehood in 36 graphites, based solely on the presence of metals and discarding other archaeological points to study. And, right, the judge believes him! Is this serious? I fully agree with what E.G. considers "sad", "disappointing" and "regrettable", with the behaviour of the people and entities that did not collaborate and did not collaborate in the solution.

It's the hand of Irulegi, who was unearthed, cleaned, revised and read, all in seventeen months. On the contrary, the grafts of Iruña Veleia have been completely relegated for seventeen years, and until they are clarified, they will continue in other years.
