McDonalde has been president of Sinn Fein for four years and has announced a referendum in the Spanish newspaper when asked about the possibility of joining the Republic of Ireland with Northern Ireland. “Furthermore, I believe that we will do so in a peaceful, democratic and orderly manner.”

In May, Sinn Fein won the elections in Northern Ireland and we counted it in Argia as follows: “A new milestone in Northern Ireland”. In the Republic of Ireland, they have a coalition of government made up of Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and the Green Party.

Referendum also in Scotland

In Scotland, Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon proposed holding the referendum on independence on 19 October 2023. The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, refused the referendum, but Scotland aspires to be able to vote without obtaining the approval of the UK Government. To this end, they shall consult the United Kingdom Supreme Court on the legality of the content of the bill.
