The works of Irati Elorrieta, Asisko Urmeneta and Patxi Zubizarreta have won the Euskadi Awards
  • Awards have been made for the categories of literature, children's literature and illustration of literary works in Euskera. The awards ceremony will be held on 18 November at the Tabakalera de Donostia.

The work Neguko argiak (pamiela) by Irati Elorrieta has been awarded the Euskadi Prize for Literature in the form of literature. At ARGIA Gorka Erostarbe interviewed him about the book: "I understand literature as an attempt to shape something that escapes from the visible." Elorrieta published this second novel at the end of 2018.

Aztihitza from Asisko Urmeneta: The award for the best illustration will lie in Xaho’s biographic comic book, published in Apple magazine. Joanes Etxebarria interviewed Urmeneta for the Word of Ipar Euskal Herria, on the book. Asisko Urmeneta has collaborated for many years in ARGIA and has produced many illustrations throughout these years.

The children's literature award was for Patxi Zubizarreta, Korri, Kuru, Korri! for work (Ibaizabal). Xabier Etxaniz Erlek criticized the book in ARGIA: A giraffe running.

Each of them will receive a cash prize of EUR 18,000. The rest of the winners (Spanish literature, Basque essay and Basque literary translation) will be released in two weeks.
