Extreme heat has hit Europe, Asia and North America hard. Increasingly frequent heat waves have resulted in the highest temperatures recorded in the northern hemisphere. Thus, in Sanbao, China, it has reached 52.2 degrees, in Rome 42 and in Arizona, USA 45.5.

The risk of fires has increased in many places. In Greece there have been three major fires, about 35 kilometres from Athens: Over 3,000 hectares have been burned and five villages evacuated, along with a camp with 1,200 children. Strong winds cause firefighters to have trouble controlling fire. The damage has not yet been recorded, but it is estimated that many citizens have been left homeless.

In addition to Greece, there are fires or fires throughout the northern hemisphere. Canada has over 900 active outbreaks, Switzerland has also been the scene of fires and Spanish Civil Protection has announced the risk of high-temperature fires.
