Bizi! organises a march in favour of "ecological metamorphosis"
  • The environmental association wants candidates for the municipal elections in Lapurdi, Nafarroa Beherea and Zuberoa to bet on the ecological transition. To put pressure and socialize the issue, Korrika is going to march from March 2-7, from Maule to Baiona. The municipal elections in Iparralde will be held on 15 and 22 March.

Bizi! wants to unite Ipar Euskal Herria to the ecological transition Associations As in the previous elections, he has once again visited the candidates to ask them about his position on the subject of ecological transition. “The 2020-2026 season is going to be decisive in the fight against climate warming. We want to use every means at our disposal to turn ecology into the inescapable theme of these elections.”

The partnership asks them to make clear commitments. What the candidates are being asked is the development of renewable energies, the commitment to the circular economy and waste reduction measures, the promotion of the use of the Basque currency, support for local and quality agriculture, work for quality public transport, as well as the development of measures to reduce electricity consumption. Whoever wishes to commit himself will sign the “Eco-metamorphosis Pact”.

The votes in the towns of Ipar Euskal Herria will be held on 15 and 22 March. In order to put pressure on the candidates, as well as popularize the issue, Bizi! Take a walk a few days in advance. Precisely, given the gravity and urgency of the situation, the association wants climate change to be the “star issue” of the elections. It will depart on 2 March from Maule and travel the three territories in order to reach Baiona on 7 March. The tour will bring together the cities of Maule, Izura, San Juan de Pie de Puerto, Baigorri, Ortzaize, Kanbo, Uztaritze, Biarritz, Angelu and Baiona. The march will be published on 5 March, the date on which it will pass through Uztaritze. Candidates will be able to sign up officially and publicly at the Uztaritze (Bizkaia) headquarters.

Bizi invites the citizens to become involved in organizing the march and in questioning the candidates and the citizens.
