The Peacemakers report that the Paris Call Hearing has accepted the defence request for the conditional release of Basque prisoners Ion Parot and Jakes Esnal.

Both prisoners have been 32 years old, over 71 years old, and although defense lawyers have repeatedly claimed their freedom, the prosecution has obstructed him over and over again. They had an appointment in court in July, but the decision was postponed until this Thursday after the complaint was lodged by the prosecutor.

In recent times, the agents of the popular movement have organized numerous demonstrations and protests calling for the freedom of Esnal and Parot, such as the day of the blockade on 23 July.

Paths of Peace: "This has to make the way easier"

The Peace Road Peacemaking Group has given a press conference its assessment of the decision of the Paris Call Court: "Today we have arrived at the decision we had hoped for so much. We welcome this judicial decision which takes account of the current situation. It is also to be welcomed the work that civil society carried out each year with great determination and the determination of lawyers," they explain.

The peacemakers review the steps taken from the 2011 Aiete conference to the present day and explain that the liberation of Parot and Esnal has "passed a stage", but has not ended: "We have to get our work to the head," they say.

Thus, the French and Spanish States have been called upon to "become actively involved in the peace process".

Through Bake Bideak, concentrations were convened for Thursday night in various cities and towns in the continental Basque Country, which have been maintained by the institution.
