First Inuit Television Starts in Canada
- It's called Uvagut and the broadcast started on January 18, with the first Canadian television to be broadcast in Inuit in Spanish. The schedule will be throughout the day and will last for seven days a week. It has been created by the production company Nunavut Independent Television Network, which has carried out numerous works in Inuit in the last 30 years.
In Uvagut you will see information, documentaries, films, live broadcasts and children’s programmes from all over the world that live in territories where Inuit languages are official, i.e. in Nunavut and in two regions of North-West Canada.
