The pastoral 'Inesa de Gaxen' premiered in Labastida on 15 and 16 June 2010. The show led by Pantxika Urruti premiered for the first time in the Main Theatre, before hundreds of spectators. Due to the good reception the public received, two more functions will be offered after the summer.

The pastoral ministry has been produced by nine towns in the Xarnegu region, which have reproduced the history of Inesa Gaxen, a native of Labastida. To this end, some 100 people from these villages have gathered together, who have worked for months to stage the life of this woman. The event was organized by the Xarnegu Pastorala Association and will involve Eitb.com. Pastoral care uses Euskera and Gas Station.

In the pastoral ministry, one tells the story of a woman from Labastida, who was twice locked by witchcraft in Labastida. Inesa de Gax was born in Labastida in 1566. The witch was first tried at the age of 18, but released without evidence. He then moved across the Bidasoa and lived in Hondarribia and Irun for 27 years. He was again arrested in Hondarribia on charges of being a witch, along with other women, who are accused. Inesa Gaxen always denied all the accusations, despite pressures and torture of all kinds. It was made available to the Inquisition of LogroƱo and, as not expected, all women were released without charges.

One of the main characteristics of this pastoral care is the confluence of the Basque culture and local history, as it has materialized in bilingual, Basque and Gas, with which the coexistence of both languages has been made visible. The writers Itxaro Borda and Yvan Bareyre have been in charge of writing in each language.

In Labastida, as in previous performances in June, they will also be broadcast live in the afternoon in Bardoze. However, the first date is at 11:00 in the morning, as musicians and artists will start the march on the streets of the town. Pastoral will be issued from 15:30 hours in ETB-2. A total of 1,000 entries have been sold for each function, on the network and in the local tourist offices.

The pastoral text, translated into French and Spanish, will be available. The hospitality establishments of the village will offer meals and drinks during these days as special as the previous week.

Pantxika Urruti, director of pastoral care

Pantxika has been preparing the Urruti theatre since 2017. He is the fifth pastoral ministry of the director of the Basque Orchestra. In 2016 he led his first pastoral ministry, Katalina de Erauso. In 2017 he directed the theater play Karmen Etxalarkoa. The third pastoral was Andere Serora in La Capital, and premiered in 2018. The fourth, the one before Inesa de Gaxen, was represented in 2022 in the caves of Zugarramurdi: Maddi's betrayal.

Pantxika Urruti spoke to Mediabask about the reasons for making the last pastoral: "Inesa de Gaxen was born in Labastida (Labastida), in a town near the border. But there are no limits here. We are in a place where the gas and the Basque gas are mixed. I thought something had to be done.
