Ernai organizes ‘Days to Independence’ in 75 municipalities in the Basque Country
  • The main objective is to reflect on the “path to independence”. The last stop for young people will be the Hand-Held Youth Day that will be held in Berriozar in April, the last day of which, on April 20, will be the Patriotic Day.

In February and March, the youth organization Ernai will organize “To Independence” days in more than 75 municipalities. “It will be days to spread the clamor for independence, share the concerns of young people and get to know each other,” Ernai said on social media.

In Durango, Lekeitio, Oñati, Bergara, Tafalla, Lizarra, the four capitals of the South Basque Country and eleven other municipalities have prepared lectures, exhibitions, lunches, concerts, etc., with the aim of reflecting on the “Road to Independence”. Berriozar will be the last stop for young people during the Hand-in-Hand Youth Days, which will take place from 17 to 20 April. April 20th is celebrated.

The youth organization explains that this is not a “random decision” and that more and more “young people from the Basque Country are sliding into left and independence positions”. The organization insists on the need to achieve a Basque Country “without oppression”, for which they say that “another leap in the struggle for independence” is necessary. “It is necessary to advance along the same path in the process of sovereignty, to acquire more power and to obtain our own state structures,” they say.
