Last week he was transferred to the hospital in Puerto Real (Andalusia), where he was forced into intravenous feeding, despite his will and by court order. After being transferred Thursday from the hospital to the Port-III prison ward, he has decided to suspend the 50-day hunger and communication strike, as reported by the Pro Amnesty and Anti-Repression Movement.
Basque political prisoner Iñaki Bilbao Goikoetxea began the hunger strike early on 9 September in the Port III prison in Bilbao. The prisoner has already announced that his claim was to achieve "an independent, socialist, united and Euskaldun Basque Country". With this claim, Bilbao again followed another hunger strike for a month in May and June 2017, which in 30 days stopped with 16 kilos lost and had already started drinking water. Bilbao is a native of Lezama (Bizkaia), is 65 years old and has 36 of them in prison.
