Audiovisual Light Award: Dorso
  • Bizkarsoro has been awarded the Argia Audiovisual Prize. In addition to reviewing the recent past of the Basque Country, the film is a way of acknowledging the oppression suffered and those who wanted to rise up. The prize was awarded to director Josu Martínez, producer Katti Pochelu and photo director Hibai Castro.

Bizkarsoro ARGIA awarded for:

"If a crushed people have retained their personality, it is for something. Throughout history, some have taken their hair and fought for something.

Koldo Izagirre said that Euskera would die leaving tests for autopsy in case of death. He doesn't die, but he leaves tests.

These tests and documentation, converted into stories, have now been brought to the screen by the authors of this film and, with strong citizen involvement, have performed a valuable collective exercise of memory".

We have recently talked to photography director Hibai Castro, director Josu Martínez and producer Katti Pochelu. They want to take advantage of the prize to give a boost to the film and remember that in the coming weeks they will be in different locations. Martinez says that for a long time he wanted to deal with the issue and it is clear that people get stuck in the heart: "Some believe that Euskera should be attractive and not conflictive, sexy, to reach more people. That will also be necessary, but I believe that we must speak at the heart of the people. If we forget that Euskera is a minority language, it will be more difficult to awaken the desire to be Basque".
