The Ikastolas Confederation held an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday with all the ikastolas of Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, with the aim of knowing the attitude of the ikastolas in the current educational context, analyzing the results obtained in the pre-registration process and making a joint assessment.

The Order of Admission of the Department of Education states that all centres shall have the same rights and duties. However, the Ikastolas Confederation denounds that differences are being made between centres of different ownership. Ikastolen Elkartea has therefore demanded that all the centres in the Basque Educational System have the same registration conditions. If not, it undertakes to keep all students who have applied for registration at the ikastolas, insisting that they will not be sent to other centers.

In addition, they request that the criteria used to assess the questionnaires completed by families in the pre-registration process be published.
