Iberdrola has earned a net profit of EUR 1,485 million in the first quarter of the year, an increase of 40%, mainly due to the increase in profits in the Spanish State and Great Britain, according to the company itself in the information submitted to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

The gross operating result (Ebitda) increased by 37.7% between January and March, reaching EUR 4,064 million, “mainly due to the recovery of the deficit of the regulated tariff in the United Kingdom, the normalisation of production in the countries of the European Union, the reduced purchase of energy at a price below the previous year and the increase in renewable energies”.

The company’s investments in the first quarter of 2023 amounted to €10,400 million, 9% more than in the same period last year. Sales figures have also increased in the first quarter, to EUR 15,460 million, compared with EUR 12,150 in sales for the same period of 2022.
