I’ve made my way to the cheese house with the shopping cart full of vegetables, and we’ve spent the evening cutting them off while others are preparing the sound equipment and welcoming the members of the musical groups. Although the worries about whether there will be enough salad, vegetables, couscous and others for everyone are a little overwhelmed by the belly, the table is ready to finish the sound tests. At least we got her attention and pampering. And as I entered the youth center with the dinner prepared, the tightness in my stomach increased. When the set time has come, even if the members of the collective and the musicians of the three groups are united, the youth center is half-empty. Despite the gaps, we are the ones who are here and let's get started.
The first was the new group Aposapo with Urdaibai epicenter, and the squeezes are calmed for the second song. With a mix of Stoner music and psychedelic atmospheres, the trio offers us a 40-minute journey. Based on the first EP released in November, heavy riffs, bridges from one song to another, quality and safety have been on stage. Since it was my first time seeing them live, I ended up with a nice surprise in my pocket.
Then the Mäte brought us hardcore punk from Zarautz, which is speed and screaming. They have had the resources, imagination and anger at their disposal to form the working tool for a model composed of eight songs. And they've played those songs, even though they've been unrehearsed for four months, neatly and correctly. I've released the tensioned body parts by the end.
And finally, the dark noise of Daño Dolor. In the usual way of noise music, throwing more drunk to the distinction between musical and non-musical sound, they have noise as an essential aspect for sound and creative practice. As you can read in the definition of Cosmic Tentacles, the correct one has been “a mere painful immediacy”, which must necessarily be taken in a low dose.
By the end of the night, the pot of the couscous was still almost full. In the youth house there are holes everywhere and the lack of holes in the saucepan. I'm happy to go home, though. Both have been prepared with care to be enjoyed by those who want it. At a time when big places are easy to fill, small places are usually filled with holes, but he says he loves the holes in the concert that the singer of the band Inexpressible gave the day before in the cultural center of the town. The holes were dominant there as well. For us, shortcomings are often a source of concern, because the compensation of the bands depends not only on them, but also on them being representative of the musical culture of the town. But I love them, anyway. In times when the big ones want to be bigger, BECago, sold-out, more historical, because we want to remain small. Because the small makes room for the small, the marginal and the mime, and the void makes room for the dancer who is more free.
