"To denounce the paralysis of the works of the Donostia-San Sebastián metro and to raise the need for the Basque Republic". Thus, the members of the Ehun movement have summarised the reasons for the weekend initiative.
Dozens of activists have placed banners in the four tunnels that are being used on Saturday morning to build this infrastructure in the city. This movement wants the Basque Republic to live in other values and are therefore working to connect independence with other social issues such as the metro or the case of citizens who want to leave their homes in the Old.
"The goal of this clientele network is for public resources to go into private hands. For this purpose, for decades, without shame, public works have been used that do not respond to real needs. This has happened because the 78 regime, through the law, besides allowing theft, drives it."
The members of Ehun say that they do not want to continue to live in a state that gives more importance to the pocket of the few than to the well-being of all. "As the practice of decades has taught us, there is no possibility in Spain to solve this. The Mafia is the essence of Spain. That is why we in Ehun believe that only the Basque Republic can provide us with a framework that lives without the mafia that steals what is everybody’s and protects the general public. That's our goal," they said.
The Ehun movement is a popular movement created in the Old District of Donostia-San Sebastián, which works in the work dynamics in favor of the Basque Republic. A few weeks ago, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Basque Parliament was held in which the text was discussed.
