Twenty groups support the struggle for the lands of Marienia
  • The agency Bouygues Realimmobilier already has a housing construction project in the area of Marienia, in Kanbo. Through a joint declaration, they have expressed their "determination" to carry out the struggle to achieve "denial of the project" through "collaboration" and the maintenance of the "force relationship". They have also stressed the need for solidarity "to be organised at the level of the Basque Country".

Twenty groups, including Bizi!, have joined the struggle for the Marienia farmland in Kanbo. the environmental group, the LAB trade union, the EHZ festival and the solidarity committee with the accused of Aroztegi. "Collaboration strengthens the general dynamic and maintains strong relationships to push back those who are hungry for money, such as blockages and occupations," can be read in the joint statement.

The agency Bouygues Immobilier has a housing construction project in the area of Marienia in Kanbo, according to the City Hall. Faced with these, the environmental group CADE, the farmers' union ELB, the Lurzaindia foundation, the Ostia collective and the opposition group Nahi Dugu Herria of the House of the People of Kanbo are fighting terrorism. The struggle for these lands is taking place "thanks to popular mobilization and plurality".

Three people fighting in Marienia were arrested in October, and three others were arrested in Melilla. In a statement, the groups involved in this struggle have denounced the "abusive behaviour" that has taken place in recent years. "Police raids at six o'clock in the morning, house searches, handcuffs delivery, police station stays." The trial of the three defendants will be held on 11 February 2025 in the Baiona court.

Need to weave networks at the level of the Basque Country

The signatories see a need for fighting speculation and for land. Therefore, they call the following two quotes: To the demonstration to be held in Pamplona on 1 February in solidarity with those accused of the struggle for woodworking in Lekaroz and to be held on 22 March in Vitoria-Gasteiz under the motto Euskal Herria ez dago denda.
