The 18 workers of the H&M store of the La Morea shopping centre will tomorrow meet 6 months of indefinite strike in the struggle to improve working conditions. Since 2009 they have frozen wages and lost 25% of their purchasing power. To this must be added that the majority of workers have a part-time working, so their salary is EUR 500.

The main demands, in addition to wage increases to recover purchasing power, are measures against opening on Sundays and holidays, stabilization of real working hours to reduce bias and online sales non-destruction of jobs.

ELA denounces that the company continues to block the negotiation and that in these months it has made only one offer that is "far away" from claims. ELA says that this offer would "perpetuate the precariousness of H&M".

"After all this time and despite the closure of the store, the company has no desire to negotiate effectively and therefore to end this conflict. Meanwhile, H&M has distributed 20 million euros in dividends," the union says.

That is why ELA ensures that workers continue the strike and mobilizations to force the company to negotiate an agreement that improves working conditions.
