"The vast majority decided to continue with unemployment," the union reported at the end of an assembly in which 150 carriers participated.

The Assembly has "positively" assessed the steps taken in relation to the Basque administrations and political parties. "The doors to our vision and our demands have been opened," they say. It has, however, criticised the Spanish Government and the Committee on Transport, which has met with it because it has prioritised the interests of big business. "It has been clearly seen that they do not take account of the self-employed carrier, have no respect," said Hiru members, who have had no choice but to stay: “We have been forced to do so after years on the margins of the administrations. We wish to denounce the neglect of all, including the Basque Government, the Government of Navarra and the Provincial Council.”

Union members have stated that they will continue the strike "until they achieve minimums to avoid the presence of carriers in sub-human conditions and to work below the costs on the road".
