The series of deaths continues at the Alavesa macro-prison in Zaballa. Salhaketa Araba today announced the last, at least a quarter of the year, and stressed that all of these deaths are due to "unnatural causes." The prisoner has been found dead in his cell in Vitoria prison, where he was 35 years old and a neighbour of Gasteiz. There's no more data.

In particular, Salhaketa has denounced the “systematic policy” to hide deaths in prison, an attitude that has intensified in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. By 2020, at least 125 prisoners have lost their lives in Spanish state prisons. “What happens? Why do they hide these deaths? Why are we not demanding responsibilities or at least investigating them? Would the same happen if the victims were others? Can deaths be allowed in impunity in a state institution, that is, in prisons?” the anti-terrorist association has been asked. He has denounced that we are dealing with a "Pre-Society" and stressed that most deaths would be prevented by simple compliance with the law.

Mobilisation of complaints

Salhaketa has called a repulse for this Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca in the capital of Alavesa.
