The Spanish Government has agreed with the representatives of Health of the autonomous communities to carry out PCR tests on citizens in outpatient clinics. The objective is that "health centers perform the identification of vesilancia and the closest relationships". To this end, the autonomous communities should strengthen "primary care". This "Primary Care" is the first public access to public health that people connect on the street with the local health center and with the family doctor. He also said that information systems need to be improved, "so that we have good data transmission".
The Government of Spain wants to increase the capacity to detect cases of coronavirus infection with the new plan to stop the transmission of the disease. This strategy, framed within the Transition Plan to a New Normality, seeks to increase early diagnoses, isolate confirmed or suspected cases, and also to link and diagnose those of them. The Government believes that this plan is "the central axis" for dealing with the transition phase "with maximum guarantees".
The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, reported at a press conference on this decision, which has already been announced on 4 May at 18:00, following the meeting held by the Health Delegates of the Spanish Government and the Autonomous Communities.
