"Probably by the end of winter, as is sometimes cynically said, all people will be vaccinated, cured or killed in Germany," said Minister Spahn, who said, "that's why we recommend that you get vaccinated as soon as possible."
The minister has asked citizens who have not yet received the dose of the vaccine to do so. Germany has a vaccination rate of 68%, one of the lowest rates in the European Union. Chancellor Angela Merkel assured that the current measures "are not enough" to deal with contagion because "the state of health is going to be worse than we have seen".Spahn added that in many hospitals the situation is "extremely difficult".
In regions with a high rate of hospitalization, access to public spaces such as cinema, public transport, gym or indoor bars for those who are not vaccinated will be prevented. Workers are asked to work from home whenever they can, and in the meantime, those entering the workplace must demonstrate that they have been vaccinated, have passed the disease or have recently been negative on the PCR test.
