At what point is the documentary 'The War Begins Here'?

We are recording mobilizations and concentrations right now. But on the other hand, we will record the documentary itself, all the interviews, at the beginning of May.

You have the documentary purpose of denouncing the arms industry of the Basque Country.

We will tell the history of the arms industry in the Basque Country, denounce what is being done today. Today, high-tech repairers are made here. For example, the Eurofighter Typhoon works for aircraft, helicopters and drones. These are repaired in the Basque Country.

Can we not say that there is no arms industry in the Basque Country?

We have a big industry. There are more than a hundred companies doing these repairs. It is not a well-known industry. In the Basque Country there was an insumissive movement, there were mobilizations against the Iraq War, but there has been no mobilization or investigation of the arms industry.

There is a collective in Vitoria-Gasteiz that started working about 20 years ago, they are working under the name Vitoria-Gasteiz. Two books have been published in which all the data are included: the names of the companies, what they produce, the countries they direct to... It's really serious.

What once existed in the basin of the River Deba, in Eibar or Soraluz, has disappeared. Guns were made there, but now high-tech weaponry repairs are being made in the Basque Country. Propulsors and engines...

In addition, we must denounce the explosives and bombs that leave our ports. This is the most serious. All this ammunition to Saudi Arabia, and it's being used in the war in Yemen. In 2017, 12,000 tons of explosives were released from the Basque Country.
