The San Sebastian Film Festival will be the first time that the new Miyazaki film will be brought to Europe to begin the 71st edition of the festival.
Hayao Miyazaki has a long history in the film world since he created Studio Ghibli with Isao Takahata. In its extensive filmography, the Chihiro Journey has been the most crisp, winning the Berlin Golden Bear and the Oscar for the best animated film. In addition, he won the Golden Lion for his entire career in 2005 and in 2014 received the Oscar of honor.
The fourth edition of the Miyazaki Film Festival will be the first time it is part of the Official Section. Before, with El Voyage de Chihiro and El Cliff de Ponyo in the Velódromo de Anoeta, and in the section Pearls with Kaze Tachinu/The Wind Rises.
This year two new jobs have been selected for the Pearls section: Kaguya-hime by Isao Takahata no Monogatari/The Tale of The Princess Kaguya and The Tortue rouge/Red Turtle by Michael Dudok de Wit.
