Now, in his view, 14 February will be the day of the vote in Catalonia. In particular, the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has provisionally suspended the decree of the Govern ment to postpone the parliamentary elections from 14 February to 30 May. The High Court of Justice of the Basque Country has approved this decree on 15 January and has dealt with the appeal brought by a private individual.

The complaint states that the decree amending the date of the elections "violates fundamental rights" and that the court has accepted the precautionary suspension of the decision until it decides on the postponement of the votes. The court considers that provisional precautionary measures were mandatory because otherwise the appeal would lose its "purpose". In his view, if the decree were not repealed, it would not be possible to continue the electoral process for 14 February, which would violate fundamental rights.

The court has six other appeals against the suspension of elections, which also have to be examined with requests for precautionary measures.
