Askapena opens her internationalist reflections every Saturday by streaming
  • Askapena opens a lecture cycle to learn how other peoples around the world are experiencing the harsh situation caused by COVID-19. With a number of guests, the programme will investigate how the power and contribution that internationalism can make will be reorganized. The first session will be held on 9 May by two members of the Italian Naples Zero 81.

Askapena has pointed out that VOCID-19 has been added to an already harsh situation, which has impoverished the lives of workers and increased control by the authorities. Faced with this, they say that they have to face the “last attack” of capital, “it is time for offensive and construction, and the internationalist struggle must be the guarantee of the victory of the peoples”.

In this sense, Askapena will begin in the coming weeks a series of internationalist reflections, which will analyze the contributions that internationalism can bring in the Basque Country. Through the Sare Citizen Network, reflections from different peoples of the world will be approached: From Italy, Venezuela and Palestine, among others. The conferences will be seen in original version on Askapena’s Youtube channel.

The festival will start on May 9, with the screening of the Italian film 'El Conquis'. The rapporteurs will be two members of Naples Zero 81. The original version will be available on the Youtube channel, and if you want an interpretation in Euskera, it will be possible to make it through the ZOOM application on this link.
