Above all the obstacles, this year the Popular Sanfermines will advance and will be able to celebrate it in the Old Town of Pamplona, even if it is in a “precarious” way. In early June it was reported that the City of Pamplona intended to transfer the Sanfermines Público to the city centre.

Since 2016 and for four years they have celebrated their festivities in the center of the city, but this year they have given no choice but to approach the area of Errotazar, the park of La Runa. "The City of Pamplona has thrown us out of the Casco Viejo," they said.

Taking into account the relationship maintained with the City Hall and the conditions imposed by it, the organizers of the Sanfermines Público explained that the holiday model of the Popular Sanfermines is an obstacle for the City Hall, and that they want to make it invisible. "The popular, participatory, feminist, ecologist, Basque, anti-capitalist and diverse sanfermines are an obstacle to them, and far from respecting the model we propose, they try to eliminate them from the party".

They announced that the anger caused by the situation would become a force in favour of the Popular Sanfermines and that they would continue to work. After talking to different players and peñas, the performances will take place in different spaces of the Casco Viejo, and on July 10 there will be a kalejira of demonstrations from Plaza O, “facing the gray model from the top down, to make visible the colorful party from the top, cheerful, rebellious, nonconformist, popular, critical” and convey a clear message to the city hall. “We don’t go to the edge.”
