The Bertsolaris Championship of Navarra was created in 2012 with the objective of strengthening the network of Bertso Eskolas of the Navarra locality. Since then, it is organized every two years, based on teamwork and teamwork. In this way, the possibility of working bertsolarism in another way is offered, promoting the bertsolaris and amateurs quarry, the incorporation of new spaces and plazas and the implementation of participative forms.
The fifth edition of the Barbdenas Team Tournament will be played in 2020, and comes loaded with news. On this occasion, in addition to the villages of the participating teams, a further six towns have been added to the list of participants to participate in the six semi-finals of the championship. In particular, these actions will take place in Aniz, Villava, Goizueta, Jaunsarats, Tafalla and Tudela. In this way, the Bertsozale Elkartea association maintains its commitment to bring the bertso to the largest number of corners of Navarra.
From January 31 until March 28, the Team Championship will consist of a total of 20 sessions. The final will be held in Estella, and beyond the competition, will be the great feast of Bertsolarism and Basque culture in Navarra.
In its simplicity, the Bardoak 2020 project is large. This time there will be a total of 96 participants: bertsolaris, gaiteros, organizers, cooks… Adults and young people, one town and another, veterans and beginners, the Bardos will be a bellows and a meeting point for the ecosystem of bertsolarism in Navarra. The figures reflect the health of the bertsolaris movement in Navarra. Moreover, they are the result of attention and strength in the transmission of Bertsolarism. The Bertso Eskolas and the squares of each place are the basis of other summits, and the Barakoak project shows that that base is sound.
Along with the Bertso Eskolas, the work that Nafarroako Bertsozale Elkartea, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Government of Navarra and the municipalities and communities of each place, performs in the educational centers is also essential. Through the program ‘Bertsolaritza irakaskuntza’, about 2,900 students from all over Navarra work on bertsolaritza during school hours, in 58 educational centers from 42 municipalities. This inevitable compost derives, in part, from the Bertso Eskolas network and also the Bardoak project.
