On October 13, the Hamaika Botxo Eguna, a holiday, is celebrated on the Uribitarte Walk. It will accommodate the various expressions of popular Bilbao, so that the groups will expose their projects, explain how the city model affects them and propose alternatives. The organizers believe that the debate on the city model that the approaches are imposing can be greatly enriched, as “it unites different forms of life and points of view in the same area”. In the words of the members of the Executive, “this day can serve to bring together views, to weave networks and to generate synergies”, and to that end they have invited all the bilbaits and bilbaines to participate in it.

The programme of 13 October includes round tables, information points on various projects, workshops for children and the elderly, book and record presentations and live performances. In addition to all this, the one who approaches will also find a shop of “herri denda” with material from collectives.

Although he has been debating the city model for months, Piztu Bilbo, MTV is clear that the task of building another Bilbao cannot be carried out individually. Thus, the Hamaika Botxo Eguna has been launched as an opportunity to add and network “expressions of life and life” that have no place in “this city model that is driving collaboration between institutions and companies”. “We are clear (…). We want a city where all people can find their place. We want to live in a city where the macro-projects and macro-éparos that need large infrastructures do not threaten the daily life of the neighborhoods. We want to meet our neighbors and grow with them,” they said.

Support for Vitoria

Before the end of the press conference, they have transferred their support to the organizers of the dynamic “OkupaTU Gasteiz” to be held on 6 October. The members of Piztu Bilbo, Piztu MTV, wanted to say that Vitoria-Gasteiz is another of the terrible consequences of the Euskadi-Basque Country brand, and wanted to send the following message: "As in Vitoria, there will be no institution prohibiting Eleven Votes Day," he added. The grass-roots movement has sufficient instruments of solidarity to overcome all the obstacles that are on the way.”
