- The French Government has not responded to the request for the implementation of the model of immersion in Basque at the maternal public school in Larraine. Last Friday the children and parents occupied the school, as well as the schools of Ortzaize, Irisarri, Larraine, Barkoxe and Idauze-Mendi in solidarity.
As he collected Kazeta.eus, in addition to Larrain, the schools of Idauze-Mendi, Ortzaize and Aiherra also applied for the immersion model towards February 2021, but unlike Larrain, they managed to start the immersion for the beginning of the course 2021-2022. In Larrain, on the contrary, they remain unanswered by the National Institute of Education and their parents are angry: “Where is our dive request? What's the real problem for Larrain's public school? After many memories and conversation essays, nothing comes forward.”
Schools have pointed out that the most appropriate educational path to be bilingual speakers is that of youth.
In Irisarri, also fighting
As we have just reported, the Irisarri public school has also requested a model of immersion in Basque for elementary school students. The Casa Consistorial and the inspector are also in favour, but do not receive a reply from the National Educational Organization of France.
