At least nine migrants die on the English Channel and on the coast of Ceuta
  • At least eight migrants have died on the English Channel as the boat carrying passengers and crew from the French city of Ambleteunse was shipwrecked. So far this year, 45 people have died in their attempt to reach the United Kingdom. On the other hand, a person trying to swim to Ceuta has drowned this Sunday morning. Over the weekend dozens of people have tried to cross the border with the Moroccan city of Fnideq, where there have been clashes with the Moroccan police who launched the operation.

Police sources have reported that, in response to the call made through social networks, 300-400 migrants from southern Morocco have gathered in an area of the Ceuta area. The Moroccan police have mobilised hundreds of police, persecuted migrants and set up more controls, but many have managed to overcome controls and move towards the border. Subsequently, there have been clashes between migrants and police, according to news agencies, who have arrested several people. Eight deaths in the English Channel

So far this year, 45 people have lost their lives trying to cross the English Channel. Eritrea, Sudan, Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt or Iran are some of the countries that are on the way to reach the United Kingdom.
