GuraSOS denounced that on the technical table of the Zaldibar crisis there were two representatives from the incinerators lobby.
  • This is what GuraSOS’s public complaint says. "Two members of the Zaldibar crisis table, the director of the Department of Health and the health technician, have lied to public opinion about dioxin control when they appeared at the Gipuzkoa General Meetings in 2016." The first is Juan José Aurrekoetxea, Director of Public Health and Addictions of the Department of Health of the Basque Government. The second is Jesús Ibarluzea, head of research at Biodonostia, who has been the first to take to the table of the Zaldibar crisis.

Jesús Ibarluzea has appeared these days in Euskal Telebista to recommend to the neighbors of Debabarrena the tranquility of the dioxins and furans found in the air, according to ARGIA.

Regarding Juan José Aurrekoetxea, GuraSOS has denounced that the current Director of Public Health of the Basque Government has to do with the incinerator of Zabalgarbi: Zabalgarbi also funds the long-term research project on contaminants in Zabalgarbi, promoted from Biodonostia by Aurrekoetxea and Ibarluzea.
