According to Democracy Now, two of the prisoners in Guantánamo prison will be released in the coming days, after being held for 17 years without charge. There has been no trial. There are still 40 other prisoners in military prison, but the procedures are already in place for everyone to go to jail.
The US Government wants to transfer eleven of them to other countries, but negotiations are still under way to deal with them. The activist group Witness Against Torture has called for fasting and wakefulness between 21 and 26 June in solidarity with prisoners.
