Gregorio Albo Calzada de Bureban (Burgos) was born in 1905 and worked at the train station of Pamplona during the war. He was a member of the Communist Party of Spain. Between 26 and 29 August 1936, several railway workers were arrested by the Francoists in Pamplona, shot and destroyed. As on other occasions at that time, the arrests were not officially recorded. According to various oral testimonies, they were murdered and buried in the vicinity of Paternain. His son Manuel and his grandson Manu Ibero received the remains on Thursday morning.

Councillor Ana Ollo stressed the commitment of the Government of Navarra to public policies on memory and recalled that they continue to seek: “Because we firmly believe that from just a fair memory, from the right of the victims to truth, justice and reparation, we will one day close those wounds that are still open.”
