The workers of the North Mechanical Tubes factory have today begun an indefinite strike at the Guipuzkoan plant. This plant, located in the industrial estate of Murga, belongs to the Tubacex group.
“It is a small but highly discriminated company,” the ELA trade union said in a statement on the occasion of the strike.
The trade union has recalled that the agreement that applies to workers "has not been renewed since 2008". “The salary tables we have established do not coincide with our daily work, our journey is much longer than that of Tubacex. In addition, we have other issues that the company does not want to negotiate,” the workers’ representatives explained in the note.
That is why they have begun an indefinite strike, “to fight for decent working conditions”. They have stressed that they have never asked for anything and that the company has always sought "individual contacts" with workers in order to promote the "distribution" of jobs.
On top of the table he has put the great cry: “Access to pay for work”. They have denounced that they have been talking to the management in recent months, but the management has replied that "everything is fine" and that "they charge a lot".
