The occupation of the center is a material and symbolic action that transforms the hegemony. Taking the center requires changing the structure and power relations. The location of life in the center affects the whole structure of society. Therefore, we are not interested in superficial gestures and we are not content with small improvements aimed at 1% of women. Like glass ceilings, we want to break down sticky, precarious soils.
That is why we are demanding collective responsibility to sustain life. To achieve liveable lives for all, first of all, we need to recognize that we need each other, because we are not autonomous, rational, unnecessary subjects coming to the market. We must understand that the injustices we observe in the environment are linked to each other: precarious feminized paid work, endless days of unpaid domestic work, undocumented domestic workers, bourgeois men in power spaces putting before the interests of the bank, expropriation of nature, violence against women, butchers and transon, protection of the aggressors in the courts, etc. All of this shows us that, in our society, some lives have more value than others. We have come to put an end to those hierarchies.
In these times when austerity has deepened the crisis of care, we demand the social reorganization of care as a transversal axis of public policies, that care for people does not remain at the expense of the rights of the oppressed people. Care work is carried out in a privatized, feminized and exploited way in our society, forcing women to assume them in exchange for a kiss or misery, and especially for migrant women*. Therefore, institutions and men must assume the responsibility for the care they are responsible for and, not only that, we must fundamentally change our values, personal and community relations, couples and family models, daily praxis, forms of production, public policies and territorial organization.
We know that capitalism cannot be remade without defeating women. If women* are planted, everything is left. Therefore, for this we are going to strike, to bring about a break with the system and to call for a new social pact. We want a pact that opens the door to an inclusive citizenship model that is not based on access to employment, marriage and origin.
In this way, equality policies and the development of formal equality must necessarily be linked to a process of fundamental transformation. That is to say, on the one hand, we are fighting for the social and civil rights of women*. And at the same time, we are striving to develop an agenda to overcome the exploitation of work, training, racism and discrimination between sex. Sovereignty in our territories and in our bodies. To redistribute work and wealth equitably. So marginal subjects can be free without violence against us.
This year we go on strike with a series of political demands among which we ask: decent employment for women*; political and social recognition of the essential works for sustaining life; disappearance of the figure of the internal worker; endowment of labor rights to domestic employment; decent pensions for women*; own public system, free and universal service to dependency; development of the status of women* peasant; eradication of patriarchal injustice; expansion of violence
Congratulations to all the women*, ranchers and trans who have organized a village strike. Empowering and weaving is our most demanding weapon. We see each other in the streets.
