The metal workers in Bizkaia are on strike for several days in the last week, with the aim of requesting an increase in their wages according to the CPI and improving other conditions. The third and, for the moment, the last day of strike this Wednesday. And precisely the latter is being the most conflicting, according to the convening unions.

In the Zamudio Technological Park since the morning there has been tension between the Ertzaintza and the workers. The police charge him against the pickets and identify several people, besides carrying one of them as a pinch.

Unai Orbegozo of CC.OO explained to Hamaika Telebista that "the present has had another air, there have been very heavy loads, there has been a detainee, there has been a peaceful attitude of the people at all times, but today, above all, the attitude of the Ertzaintza has been harsh".

Several witnesses have explained on social media that the Ertzaintza has been at a time of "lack of control" and has prevented the "work of lawyers". In the images disseminated one of the workers appears on the ground surrounded by ertzainas.

CCOO, LAB, UGT, ESK, CGT and CNT call for strike on one side and ALS on the other. There will be a demonstration in Bilbao this Wednesday morning and at noon.

The trade unions say that the continuity of the strike is being very high, 85% in the first two days, while FVEM, the Bizkaia metal employers, says it is only 19%. Iratxe Azkue of LAB has denounced that they wanted to "hide" the effect of the strike: "But what cannot be concealed is that Mercedes stopped this Saturday for strikes in the metal of Bizkaia."
