- ELA, LAB, CCOO and UGT have called a strike for hotel workers in Gipuzkoa on 23, 24 and 25 May. "The proposals made by the employers in relation to the collective agreement are not enough."
ELA reports that the negotiation of the Collective Agreement on Accommodation in Gipuzkoa is in a state of blockade and that is why the strike has been called.
World Tourism Managers in San Sebastian
The unions have not chosen these days by chance to strike. During these days, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will gather in San Sebastian 300 authorities and representatives from 35 countries.
The initiative was presented by the Minister of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda of Spain, Álvaro Nadal, and the Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Consumption of the Basque Government, Alfredo Retortillo.
Nadal stressed that it is "one of the biggest events" in the field of tourism and that it will function as "an international visitor card that the Basque Country and San Sebastian have not had until now".
