"Friend, mate."

"As we have said on more than one occasion, we remember our friend Gladys, who was our colleague, and who went unpunished because this injustice cannot be forgotten," the organizers said in a statement. "In addition, no official confession comes. In fact, the steps taken in recent years by both the Basque Government and the Government of Navarre on the road of recognition have met with great resistance and have not yet borne fruit. In this sense, the news we received two or three weeks ago is a joy: The Constitutional has rejected the appeal lodged by pp and VOX against the Navarre law on the recognition of victims of the police and the far-right".

"We especially remember Gladys because the reasons that led to Tudela that miserable day are now more valid than ever," he added. "The health crisis has only increased the need for radical change, production, consumption and a more environmentally friendly way of life and people. But it doesn't seem like we're going down that road.

They killed the daughter of the Sun

"The lack of justice feeds the memory. The more unjust the wounds are, the more we remember and carry in our hearts those who suffered them. With Gladys Del Aparl something similar happens, since from the first minute it was detected that the citizens were facing an unjust death, if there is a fair death". With these words begins the extensive report that journalist Urko Apaolaza brought to light in Larrun magazine when we were murdered by the daughter of the Sun. "The reaction that led to the killing of the environmental activist in Tudela by the sub-rifle of a civil guard on 3 June 1979, during a pacifist session, is hardly forgotten by many: the general strike paralyzed the Basque Country until the collapse of the anti-nuclear pot."

For this biography, we talk to the friends who met him, we review documents, newspaper archives, newsletters, records, messages... and we bring to light unknown data.

"In these forty years, the shadow of impunity has prevailed at dawn, because the agent who killed Gladys has not paid for what he had done, but for the medals," Apaolaza said. "The black tint of the official version has stained the story. But ... No! That was not a disgraceful accident, but the consequence of a calculated repression which during those years filled our shores with smoke and lead jets. And Gladys was not by chance on that bridge of the Ebro, but had been driven there by his commitment and temperament.
