A man has been arrested by the Civil Guard in Amurrio on charges of posting offensive messages on social media. The EFE agency explains that the detainee has been accused of laughing at the death of two Civil Guard officers. They have not specified the social networks on which he made his statements, but they highlight that he made them in an account with more than 4 million followers.

The Spanish armed institute has determined that the arrest is linked to an incident that occurred in March 2024. That month, two Civil Guard officers were killed by a truck on the AP-4 road in front of Los Palacios (Seville). In connection with this incident, the detainee is accused of writing: "Dead policeman, the best fertilizer for the garden."
Research, "through an anonymous call"

The investigation was launched in May after receiving an anonymous call denouncing this comment at the Civil Guard headquarters in Castellón (Valencia). The researchers investigated the real identity of the owner of the social network profile and found it in Amurrio.

The case is said to have been referred to the Amurrio court. The detainee has been charged with the crime of insulting.
