In most Gipuzkoan municipalities EH Bildu has imposed itself and in Donostia the PNV has lost almost 10,000 votes
  • In San Sebastian it has won the PNV, but with 1 councilor (10 to 9) and almost 10,000 lost votes, and EH Bildu has increased considerably: It has achieved 2 more councillors (from 6 to 8) and in votes it has come very close to the PNV. In the 2019 municipal elections, in some municipalities where the PNV defeated, EH Bildu has been ahead, as in Tolosa and Arrasate. EH Bildu also featured in the mayors of Debagoiena. Although EH Bildu is the municipality of Gipuzkoa that has the greatest role in relation to the PNV, in the municipal elections of 2023 it has continued to take steps forward and has managed to conquer some PNV mayors.

In San Sebastian, it was particularly noteworthy that the left coalition took away the celators and the list of Juan Karlos Izagirre has been very close to Eneko Goiarena. However, the PNV has gained in the capital, but with a sharp decline: In 2019 he won 34,065 votes and in 2023, 24,471. EH Bildu has won 8 councillors (6 in 2019) and 9 PNV councillors (10 in 2019). From the point of view of the votes, the difference in the last elections in San Sebastian has been enormous: the PNV won in 2019 with almost 14,000 votes and in 2023 EH Bildu has stayed at about 1,000.

Debagoiena in the hands of EH Bildu

EH Bildu will have all the mayors of Debagoiena as well as the community. He has removed the mayor's seat from the PNV in Arrasate (EH Bildu passes from 8 to 10 councillors and PNV from 9 to 8), Aretxabaleta and Eskoriatza (from 4 to 7 councillors). EH Bildu and PNV are with 5 councillors in Legazpia (1 less than in 2019) and need 7 for most. The PSE-EE gets 2 (1 more than in 2019). Also in Zegama EH Bildu will have the mayor, ahead of Zegama Lantzen, with 5 councillors.

Nationalists have also lost in Tolosa, with 1,000 votes less than 4 years ago, and EH Bildu has won the majority, 406 votes more than in the previous elections. He will send 9 councillors (2 more than in 2019) and the opposition will be with the PNV 7 (1 lost).

The PNV has again been imposed on: Elgoibar, Beasain, Lazkao, Urretxu, Azkoitia, Zaraut, Aia and Urnieta. The PSE-EE has also been imposed in the following countries: Irun, Lasarte-Oria, Eibar and Zumarraga.

The agreements in Hondarribia and Andoain are decisive

In Hondarribia there has also been a change to the detriment of the PNV. Abotsanitz was the first force with 7 councilors and the PNV the second with 6 (3 lost since 2019). It takes 9 mayors that have so far had the PNV. Therefore, if an agreement were reached between Abotsanitz and EH Bildu could govern, as they would overcome the PNV-PSE-EE agreement (the PSE-EE has achieved 2 councillors).

In Andoain, agreements will also have to be made to know who rules. It takes 9 councilors to send, and EH Bildu has won 8 (1 more than in 2019), the second has been the PSE-EE with 5 and the next PNV with 3 seats (1 lost). Elkarrekin Podemos is the last councilor. Socialists and nationalists therefore do not reach the majority to govern even with an agreement.

In Azpeitia wind farms have not changed the result

In Azpeitia, there was some doubt as to how the problem of wind power plants would affect EH Bildu, but the result will not change. Voters ratify the mandate of EH Mayor Bildu, Nagore Alkorta. EH Bildu will stand with 10 councillors, but with 747 fewer votes. The PNV will remain opposed to 7 councillors, but with 413 fewer votes.
