According to the pre-agreement, wages will increase by 5% in 2023, one CPI plus 0.7% in 2024 and one CPI in 2025 and 2026. The increase in CPI in Hego Euskal Herria has been 5.7% in 2022. ELA says the agreement continues to guarantee the best metal wages in Hego Euskal Herria. Consequently, by way of example: The difference between the staff serving as senior officer in Eibar or Ermua will be over EUR 6,000, and greater between graduates and/or engineers: In Gipuzkoa they will charge 44,000 euros, 15,000 euros more than in Álava and Navarra, and 8,000 euros more than in Bizkaia”.
LAB does not agree with this assessment, as the wages of those earning more than the base salary will only rise by 85% of the CPI and, consequently, this increase will apply to most workers. The union says that to improve this issue he proposed six days of strike for May and June.
ELA says that in March he transferred to the other unions his willingness to reach an agreement and the possibility of negotiating together, and even that Adegi proposed a six-day strike for the months of May and June in the event of a suspension of the negotiations and that the unions did not want. ELA recalls that 88.17% of strikes in Gipuzkoa.

Adegi has stressed that the agreement has been reached after five months without conflict, because that is good and “the agreement protects workers with worse pay, because it is they who will have the highest wage increases”.
