The Socialist Youth Council, GKS, has organized mobilizations against war and fascism this weekend. The march will start at 7 p.m. at the Castle Square. The war and fascism mentioned in the slogan are “two of the main problems that capitalist society has created” for the GKS.

For the Young Socialist Coordinator, there are three reasons or arguments for going out on the streets: “Do not normalize the warmongering and fascist agenda in the Basque Country; do not increase the collectives that spread sexist, racist and fundamentally classist messages and the need for young people to be at the forefront of the fight against fascism.”

To this end, the GKS wanted to highlight the strength of the working class to “set in motion and/or strengthen a hegemonic current that is anti-fascist and anti-war.” There is a denunciation of the will to war in North America and Europe, while workers’ labour rights are getting worse and the problems of getting a job are getting worse. The organizers of the demonstration believe that poverty is becoming widespread.

As far as Navarre is concerned, he also expressed his concern about the housing problem by calling for the demolition of the GKS and the Monument to the Fallen, because “standing still is an insult to the victims and their families who suffered the repression of fascism during and after the civil war.”

The demonstration against war and fascism will take place on Saturday in Pamplona. At 7 p.m., you will depart from the Plaza del Castillo.

In Irrintzi Plaza we invited June Egino, member of the Socialist Youth Coordinator, to talk about the demands of the mobilization.
