In the soil poisoned during the war
  • From time to time, I hear in the hive some wasps that look like a helicopter; all of a sudden, they appear on the hive portal against bees, with their powerful size and body. But it's not a war between the two species; it's a black wasp trying to conquer a territory that's not yours, as if the bee had no problems in the day-to-day, pressing it.

The wasps kill the bee that leaves flower in the morning when it comes home. It's been a few years since the war began, that wasps prevent the life of the bee... Beekeepers, however much we want to help, cannot do anything to stop this war. Pests are not a new topic, as we spend many days confined between the walls of our house. In the case of bees, there are also pests and closures. Without covid-19, a parasite called mud is the one that weakens the bee, affecting all the inhabitants of the hive.

To combat it, we must imprison the queen, leaving her prisoner, so that she does not burn egg. The mite will not find in it bees of the future to be able to reproduce. Although we have learned that there is no alternative but to disinfect the rest of the bees against ‘mud’ (vaccine), there are bees that have naturally developed ways to fight the pest. There we have beekeepers, taking care of the bee during the pest war.

In our country, the worker is a black Basque bee, but there are many hives and hives mixed with bees from other countries. Why have our bees been mixed with other breeds? Interest. It was thought that racial mixtures would lead to higher yield, but time has shown us that there is not such a hardworking and healthy bee as autochthonous, as it is an autochthonous breed. The current war is that mixing our black bee with bees from other countries can lead to the loss of the native breed.

It is clear that human interest has become a major problem for nature, especially economic interest. Green maize in recent years, or the rapidly growing plant... If we knew the damage this entails for our love! This interest raises many other problems added to the chain. Both pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used to boost these monocultures and we have poisoned our land. From here we feed and also bees.

In war-poisoned land, bees are dying, maybe we too?
