Lack of negotiation

In the middle of the Durango Fair, the members of the assembly entered the building on Friday, December 6, claiming they needed a gaztetxe. “We started the project with the objective of filling the gaps that Durango has,” they said.

Last Monday the Municipal Police came to the place to establish access control and inform them that the City Hall had cut all contact and communication routes with them. Since 2023 he has been Mayor Mireia Elkoroiribe of the PNV. The assembly has underlined the unwillingness to negotiate with the City Hall of San Sebastian. In fact, the City Hall informed him that the building is out of ordinance and that it is expected to be demolished in a few years’ time.

Knowing this, the assembly explained that it was willing to use it until the demolition of the building, and that it then left. However, they have denounced that the City Council has refused to negotiate and has shown its intention to initiate the eviction process by legal means.
