They call on the Basque Government to intervene in the case of Gaztelueta and to withdraw aid to the centre.
  • The parents of the young man, who has denounced the abuses, have asked Opus Dei to explain his position in the case of Gaztelueta, at a hearing in Haro (La Rioja). They have denounced that by attacking a victim and defending a "pederasta", Gaztelueta's college has exceeded "all borders".

The parents of the child who suffered the abuses have denounced the attitude maintained by the Gaztelueta school management in the case of the teacher. In addition, they have asked the Basque Government to intervene in the case and halt the aid received by the centre as a concerted centre, as the Basque Executive has reported.

"We would like to know if the director of Gaztelueta has the support of Opus Dei, because if no communiqué is made public in the coming days it will be because they agree with him," they added.

The family regretted that, after imposing eleven years of imprisonment on a school teacher, the director of Gaztelueta, Imanol Goiarrola, has put himself above good and evil and has "sunk" the values he should promote.

Therefore, the young woman's parents do not rule out bringing the school to court, "Gaztelueta has shown that she does not believe in justice, let alone freedom."
