Two young men are judged by the occupation of the gaztetxe Txorimalo de Getxo
  • Two 29-year-olds and 26-year-olds have been tried this Tuesday in the Getxo courts accused of occupying the house where the gaztetxe Txorimalo is located fifteen years ago. Dozens of people have concentrated in front of the courts to lament what has happened; the Ertzaintza has deployed a police force in the area.

Following the path of Sastraka, La Ferrería, Maidagan, Kutxitril, Aixerrota, Mentxakabarri and the many projects that were left to walk, the building was occupied on April 10, 2006 at the Gaztetxe Txorimalo de Getxo. At the time, according to the Gazte Asanblada de Algorta, about 40-50 young people together occupied the empty house of Aixerrota. As they explained, until then a couple had been in that house as squater and, after contacting the Algorta okupación movement, the youth assembly decided to use the building as gaztetxe. Since then, fifteen years have passed, eleven attacks – power outages, surveillance cameras – and several identifications.

Shortly after the occupation, on May 7, 2007, Pinueta, Algorta and a young man from Getxo declared themselves members of the Gaztetxe Txorimalo. In the Examining Court as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of immovable property. Now, fourteen years later, two young people, who were recently identified in the vicinity of the building, have been tried by the same indictment.
